Beschreibung: The Department of Molecular Neurogenetics at the Center for Molecular Neurobiology (ZMNH), University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), funded by the Dr. Hans Ritz und Lieselotte Ritz Stiftung invites applications for a
PhD student position (65% German TV-KAH scale 13).

Job description: You will join the PhD program of the ZMNH and will carry out a thesis project focusing on protein trafficking and vesicle turnover in the context of neurodegenerative disorders. You will apply methods such as advanced live cell imaging, biochemistry, mouse genetics, molecular and cellular biology to investigate structural, molecular or functional changes in synaptic connectivity and its impact on neurodegenerative processes. The position is a three year German University position.

Your profile: We are looking for highly motivated applicants who hold a university Master’s degree in biology or other natural sciences. Experience in more than one of the above-mentioned techniques would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills and the ability to efficiently integrate in a multidisciplinary research team are expected.
