Beschreibung: G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) have an outstanding role in the pharmaceutical research and are the target molecule of about 40% of the currently available drugs. Also, in basic research the interest in GPCRs is unbroken to understand the relationship between structure, function and dynamics of these molecules. Within the scope of the current research project cell free expression should be employed to specifically label distinct regions in a peptide binding receptor. Subsequently, solid-state NMR spectroscopy is used to understand the influence of these regions on the overall dynamics of the receptor and thus on its functionality as a molecule involved in signal transduction.

We are looking for a motivated and open-minded candidate with the ability to work independently as well as in a team with a strong interest in GPCR biology and biophysical methods, especially NMR spectroscopy. An excellent level of written and spoken English as well as professional handling of research data are mandatory and expertise with below-mentioned methods a benefit. The candidate should hold a master’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, biophysics or a relevant field.
The working group offers modern equipment, a multi-disciplinary approach with state-of-the-art techniques, and a good working atmosphere in a young team.
