Beschreibung: In the framework of the CRC 1066 (Nanodimensional polymer therapeutics for tumor therapy)
the Institute for Immunology, Core Facility for Mass Spectrometry
of the University Medical Center Mainz (AG Prof. Stefan Tenzer)
is hiring a

PhD Candidate (m/w) „Characterisation of the protein corona of nanocarriers: stealth effect and in vivo targeting“

Starting date: as soon as possible
Duration: until 06/2021
Salary: TV-L E13 (65%)

Your Tasks:
- method development for absolute quantification of corona components by LC-MS
- design, analysis and evaluation of custom tailored protein coronas
- integrative analyses of nanoparticle properties, corona data and biodistribution
- bioinformatics analyses of corona components
- working in an interdisciplinary environment in close collaboration with other projects
of the SFB 1066
- guided PhD period within the Graduate School of the CRC1066

Your ideal qualification:
- Master (M.Sc.) biology, biochemistry, chemistry, bioinformatics or equivalent education
- hands-on experience or profound knowledge of protein biochemistry and molecular biology
- excellent analytical and writing skills
- you are ambitious, self-motivated and have high team work capabilities
- excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
- experience with proteomics, LC-MS, data analysis and bioinformatics is a plus
- experience in scientific writing is an advantage
