Beschreibung: The Boerries laboratory seeks to recruit a highly motivated PhD student to join our research team studying the mechanisms of metastasis in pancreatic adenocarcinoma. The project will be conducted in the context of the research and teaching program of the Collaborative Research Centre 850 “Control of cell motility in morphogenesis, cancer invasion and metastasis”. The project is a joint project between the laboratories of Dr. Dr. Melanie Boerries and Dr. Ralph Fritsch.Further information about the Fritsch and Boerries laboratories can be found under the following links:
Your challenge:
• to conduct your own research project seeking to better understand the molecular mechanisms of pancreatic cancer metastasis and contribute to the establishment of novel biomarkers of invasiveness and metastatic potential

Your skills and qualities:
• completed Bachelor and Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant theoretical discipline (Physics or Bioinformatics)
• Experience with high-throughput data (sequencing data) and biology would be beneficial
• good organizational and communication skills
• self motivation, team player skills, good language skills in English
