Beschreibung: The numbers of patients suffering from inflammatory bowel diseases increased significantly during the last two decades. At present, more than 400,000 people are affected by this disease in Germany. Inflammatory bowel diseases cannot be cured as yet. The development of novel therapeutic strategies is critically dependent on the identification of new targets. Within a newly established research consortium in co-operation with the Charité Berlin and funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG-TRR241), we aim to decipher the role of the vascular system in the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases in order to identify novel targets for therapy development.
Modern techniques of cell and molecular biology, elaborated imaging analyses and novel animal experimental models are available for this project. The successful applicant will be embedded in a structured educational program for PhD students integrated in the TRR241 consortium.

We are seeking an individual with (1) a diploma/master in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or molecular medicine and (2) documented experience with culture of eukaryotic cells, molecular and cell biological techniques and in vivo mouse models (FELASA-B).
The applicant should be highly motivated to work in translationally-oriented research.
Methoden: Cell culture, molecular and cell biological techniques and in vivo imaging techniques.
