Beschreibung: How do patients with Parkinson's disease move at home? Can movement sensors provide (personalized) signatures of the disease and measures of treatment efficacy?
Home-based wearable sensor data of PD patients will be analyzed (after already validated algorithms have been applied) to answer these important questions.

We are looking for professional and competent support to start as early as possible.

Your role:
- You will perform statistical analyses and apply machine learning to home-based movement sensor data of patients with Parkinson’s disease.
- You will find associations of the sensor data with clinical symptoms characteristics in PD and changes in sensor signatures after clinical intervention.

Your profile:
- You should preferentially have a M.Sc. degree in mathematics/statistics, physics, engineering, epidemiology or similar.
- You should be motivated to work with patient data and advance PD research at its frontier.
- You should have experience in programming and statistics in R and should be interested in applying machine learning approaches.

What we offer:
- A PhD project that is internationally competitive and at the frontier of PD research (How can movements at home as assessed using sensors provide (personalized) measures of PD severity?)
-You will be embedded into multidisciplinary teams at the Dept. of Neurology, UKSH Kiel (Working groups: Integrative data analytics, Neurogeriatrics)
- You will have an excellent and comprehensive supervision along your way to the PhD.
- You will be in exchange and learn from experienced data analysts (of our working groups and our collaboration partners in the pharmaceutical industry).
- 65% TV-L E13 salary (3 year contract); The preferred starting date is as soon as possible.
Methoden: R, Statistics
