Within the framework of a project granted by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, we intend to investigate the role of secondary plant metabolites for anti- and pro-inflammatory effects. The project specifically involves the purification and identification of certain glycosides from plants and the elucidation of their biologically effects on the molecular level in eukaryotic cell culture experiments. The project offers the chance to work in a multi-disciplinary team with numerous international collaborations.
