Beschreibung: The PhD project is part of the research project ‘Enhancement of protein efficiency in pigs’ and aims to investigate the proteome and metabolome of pigs. The project is part of a mul-ti-disciplinary approach where data obtained by animal nutritionists, breeders and microbi-ologist will be combined to get a holistic insight in protein efficiency of single animals.
This demands the practical work in the stable within the first part of the project including blood and faeces collection. In parallel and in the second half of the project, laboratory work to analyses tissue samples by biochemical, proteomic and metabolomics techniques will be done. Finally, data analyses using different bioinformatic software tools will be used to eval-uate the results.

Sonstiges: We seek a highly motivated creative person with interests in animal physiology, microbiolo-gy and metabolomics. Candidates should have a Diploma or MSc certification in the area of agricultural biology/science, biology, veterinary science or a similar subject in natural sci-ence.
The place of work is at the University of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Germany. Funding is availa-ble for 36 months.
