Beschreibung: Amyloid structures are pathogenic agents in a range of diseases from Alzheimer's to systemic amyloidosis. The Institute of Protein Biochemistry uses biochemical techniques, cell culture and animal models to find and characterize potential inhibitors of protein misfolding diseases, such as systemic AA amyloidosis.
Methoden: Cell culture, amyloid quantification, metabolic cell assays, protein biochemistry and purification, working with animals (mice), spectroscopy, electron miscroscopy
