Beschreibung: The PhD project deals with the role of a family of pattern recognition receptors in innate immunity, the so-called C-type lectin receptors. The project will focus on the identification of C-type lectin receptor ligands and their immunological evaluation (in vitro and in vivo). To this end, advanced biochemical methods as well as state-of-the art immunological assays will be employed.

For the available PhD position, we are seeking a creative and enthusiastic candidate that must have obtained a MSc or Diploma degree in Biology, Biochemistry or a related field, or a Staatsexamen in Veterinary Medicine. The PhD project will involve a variety of methods including molecular biology techniques, biochemical and immunological methods as well as animal experiments. Thus, previous experience in one or more of these fields is considered a plus. Additional requirements are an above-average university degree, very good English language skills as well as a high motivation. The salary will be in accordance with the TV-L German public sector pay scale (E13/E14, 50%, three years).
