Beschreibung: The research group Experimental Vascular Medicine at the Clinic for Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Heinrich Heine University Medical Center of Duesseldorf invites applicants for a PhD student position.

We are looking for an accomplished, highly motivated and career oriented young scientist, preferably with a strong interest in cell/molecular biology and biomedical research. Applicants should hold a Diploma / Master Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Veterinary Medicine or a related discipline.

In the DFG funded project (TRR259) we intend to study the impact of platelets on the progression of abdominal aortic aneurysms. The study includes different in vitro experiments and verification in transgenic mouse models. After an initial period of training, the PhD candidate should work independently and self-motivated.
