Beschreibung: The Waskow Research Group of the Leibniz Institute on Aging—Fritz-Lipmann-Institute e.V. in Jena invites applications for a
PhD student position (TV-L E13/2 ) (Job ID 1931)
in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Research.

We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to support our team in hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) research focusing on the regulation of blood stem cell function. We use state of the art technologies to uncover novel cell intrinsic and cell extrinsic mechanisms important for HSC function in the embryo and throughout life. Our team focuses on HSCs from mice and human and we have a particular interest in uncovering and modulating pathways important for stem cell fate choice decisions in vivo.

Methoden: We are seeking for a highly motivated new lab member to support a project on the molecular control of HSC aging in mice and humans. We are a young and dynamic research team and we are looking for someone very reliable and communicative that has fun of getting involved in research on hematopoiesis. Experience with mouse work is of advantage but not a prerequisite for a successful application. The position is available immediately.The position is available immediately.

A position in a well-equipped research group of a high quality institute for age research, which harbors several state-of-the-art facilities. Our work is embedded in the Beutenberg Campus, an interdisciplinary base for innovative research. The PhD position will be integrated in our Leibniz Graduate School on Aging and Age Related Diseases
The contract conditions and the salary will be according to the collective labor agreement for public service employees of the Federal State of Germany (TV-L E13) with 50% in the first year and 65% in the following years.
