Beschreibung: Our research group at the Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Lübeck, is looking for a PhD student.

The Institute for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology investigates the communication between brain and periphery. We are funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.
For an ongoing project, we are looking for a PhD student with a Master degree (or equivalent) in Neurosciences, Molecular Life Science, Medicine, Pharmacy or a related field at the earliest possible date, initially limited to three years.

This is what you can expect in this position:

- You will take part in a sub-project of the ERC-funded consortium WATCH and investigate different strategies to deliver thyroid hormones into the brain and to treat diseases in which the transport is disrupted. Therfore, you will establish and evaluate AAV-based methods to reexpress a functional thyroid hormone transporter in a cell type-specific manner in in vivo models (Mct8-/-).
- Your work is integrated in an international research network (stays abroad are planned)
- You will work in a very well equipped research environment
- You will work with a wide range of methods from molecular biology to in vivo methods
- You will participate in the central PhD program of the University of Lübeck
- With a pharmaceutical or medical degree, you have the opportunity to carry out further training in the field of pharmacology or drug information.
This is what we offer you with this position:
You will be assigned to pay group 13 TV-L (65%). The University Medical Center Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) and its subsidiaries follow the principles of equal opportunities, we value diversity. We therefore expressly welcome applications from all members of society. We work continuously to achieve equality between men and women.
