Beschreibung: The research activities of our group aim to establish a fundamental, physics-based understanding of the function of bio-macromolecular systems. We investigate the structure, dynamics and interaction of biological assemblies at the interface between physics and molecular biology.
We are looking for an excellent and highly motivated PhD candidate who will perform research which is related to a DFG-Grant project focusing on co-translational mechanisms of protein folding. You will be part of a team using state-of-the-art equipment which investigates structural and dynamical properties of proteins and protein complexes.
Methoden: We employ experimental techniques like, confocal fluorescence spectroscopy and single molecule wide-field TIRF microscopy with simultaneous dual color detection. By using pulsed excitation and time correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) we achieve picosecond time resolution and make use of extensive multi-parameter fluorescence analysis. Thereby fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), multi-color detection, Förster resonance energy transfer (FRET), and two-color coincidence detection (TCCD) are employed in our research projects.
