We are currently looking for a PhD candidate starting early in 2021 in the KlahnLab at the Institute of Organic Chemistry at TU Braunschweig dealing with the total synthesis of bioactive alkaloids. The work will include the de novo synthesis of natural products, semi synthetic derivatization of compounds obtained by cell cultures and development of tool compounds for biological investigations. Participation in the education, e.g. supervision of practical courses and internships, is expected.
Appropriate candidates should hold a master degree in organic or medicinal chemistry, with high marks and excellent hands-on knowledge of organic synthesis. A perfectly equipped scientific surrounding at the host institute and supervision by a young, highly motivated group leader will be provided. The position will be payed with TVL 13 (50%) and is planned for 3 years. Applications (incl.
