Two PhD Positions, Molecular Simulation of Chemistry in Nanoconfinement, Ruhr University Bochum/Germany
Applications are invited for PhD student positions, which are available immediately or upon mutual agreement (latest starting date is July 01, 2021). The goal of the project is to obtain atomic-levels insights into chemistry in nanoconfinement, e.g., in biomolecular systems such as enzymes, or in synthetic host-guest complexes. The successful candidate (m/f/d) has a keen interest in molecular simulations and in interdisciplinary collaborative research together with experimental groups in the research training group confinement-controlled chemistry (GRK 2376), and has strong skills in theoretical and computational chemistry/physics, statistical mechanics, and scientific computing.

If the position is funded by third-party funds the employee has no teaching obligation.
PhD candidates (m/f/d) hold (or expect to complete soon) an excellent M.Sc. (or equivalent) degree in chemistry, physics, or a related field. The group language is English, so no German language skills are required – but it’s a great opportunity for you to learn German.
