The Biological Chemistry group at the Department of Chemistry, Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, is seeking to fill several positions for
PhD and Postdoctoral Research Associates
in the area of drug development by peptide synthesis and medicinal chemistry (Target: anticancer and antibacterial drugs drug profiling) – some projects are part of a collaboration with the bioindustry / pharma industry.
Research topics: Research will focus on the organic synthesis of drug molecules and their bioactivity profiling, experience in bioassays, multidimensional NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry are appreciated. Beyond lab work, leadership will be required to manage the project via progress reports to project sponsors to advise students.
Prerequisites: Suitable candidates for this position
• hold a Master or PhD degree in Organic Chemistry/Biochemistry/Pharmacy or Biological Chemistry/Life Sciences
• have had hands-on experience with organic synthesis, peptide synthesis, additionally optional proteomics, biochemistry and protein chemistry
• are self-driven individuals with proven success in and executing independent scientific research
• have displayed a scientific publication history
• have outstanding verbal and written
communication skills
• are energetic, ambitious team players.

organic synthesis, peptide synthesis (solid support, automated peptide synthesis), ESI-MS, HPLC, 2D NMR spectroscopy, assay development, medicinal chemistry, pharmacokinetic & pharmacodynamics studies.
