Beschreibung: PERVs are integrated in the genome of all pigs and pose a special risk for xenotransplantation using pig cells, tissues or organs. In this project, the student will i) clone, produce and purify recombinant PERV envelope proteins, ii) screen sera after immunization for binding and neutralizing antibodies using ELISA, Western blot and a PCR-based neutralization assay and iii) perform an epitope mapping using overlapping peptide arrays.
