PhD student (m/f/d) in chromatin biochemistry with 2/3 part-time employment, for 3 years - E13 TV-L HU
Starting date: August 1, 2022 or thereafter
Responsibilities:
- Research and teaching in the field of genetics, molecular biology and epigenetics
- Research on chromatin regulation and epigenetics in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, in particular biochemical and structural biological studies of heterochromatin components and their binding to nucleosomes using biochemical and structural biological methods in combination with molecular genetics to characterize repressed chromatin
- Tasks for your own scientific qualification (doctorate)
Requirements:
- University degree in biology, biochemistry or similar topic
- Proven experience in biochemistry and structural biology
- Knowledge of chromatin and epigenetics desired
- Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Be highly motivated, creative and self-driven
